1609: The Other Side of History by Dr Frederick M. Wiseman
The film explores the incredible complexity of the little-known
Native and European diplomatic and military cultures that
complemented and blended with each other in that fateful
summer 400 years ago. 1609: The other side of History
presents for the first time an analysis of the strategic
diplomacy and the tactical clothing, transportation, navigation,
and martial systems that permitted sixty Native Alliance and
French warriors to overcome a vastly superior Iroquois army
on the shores of Lake Champlain. Much of the film's
authenticity comes from a careful recreation of dress and sets
based on archaeology, experimental research and careful
analysis of Champlain’s illustrations and descriptions..

Speaking to the Ancestors by young Abenaki filmaker Lina Longtoe Schulmeisters
For countless generations cultures have turned to their wise elderly to obtain a deeper
understanding of their everyday lives or to learn an old craft. Allow John Sheehan and his
family and peers gather to share their knowledge of Nicotiana Rustica, a variety of
tobacco, as well as share the personal and tribal connections to the plant. How to care for
and grow Nicotiana Rustica, as told by John and other members of the Vermont Abenaki
community.
